The luxury Italian lingerie brand, La Perla, is going East for its new Fall/Winter 2012/13 collection. The brand mixes its traditional laces and silks with oriental elements, such as obi (Japanese belt), Kimono (Japanese traditional clothing), Furoshiki (Japanese wrapping style), and even dragon as a tribute to the Chinese Year of Dragon.
The new season’s presentation was held at a sassy restaurant at LKF Tower on Wyndham Street, Lily & Bloom. The place was glowed with late-afternoon sunlight coming from the back of the couch I sat. The resultant warmth and brightness only made me feel more excited for the show.
Probably the boldest piece that received the biggest no. of wows. Love the cut out on the chest and the lacquered screen patterns on the sides.
The flowery red-background stand filled with pink camellias.
My best interest in this drink is the mint on the top.
Look at the sheer materials and floral embroidery at crotch.
Satin robe with a long belt.
Excessive laces with a Kimono-style robe.
Lace dress in satin. My personal favorite in this combo is the folded clutch.
One of my favorite pieces in this collection – the dangling belt is so long that you have to hold it with your hands and walk around like flying in the wind.
The Chinese-style embroidery, fringe and camellias.
And we’re living in this digital era…
Champagne-color lingerie with kimono-style robe.
Very simply and classic design, you can even wear it like an evening dress.
Classic La Perla craftsmanship with loads of laces and silk.
Dragon prints – needless to say it’s for the Year of Dragon.
Love the color scheme of beige and burgundy.
The strong shoulder design and obi-style belt makes the robe so exotic.
The laces in this collection mimic oriental flowery prints.
The drink was left aside beautifully when the show was on air.
Another wow piece – Sheer back vest with embroidery in the middle.
Again, the details at the crotch makes it more erotic.
I really enjoy the scallop-shaped chest line of this piece a lot.
How could you forget the dragon?
Me on Wyndham street after the show.
This collection differentiates the ones in the past because of the new touch on oriental sensuality. It gives the ones wearing the garments a sense of exoticism not only from the mix of Far East elements and Italian grace, but also the wise use of fabrics, cut and color combination. I love it.
